Introducing Summer Light Practice Ideas

Summer is here! For musicians, professional and amateur alike, we find summer to be a tricky time. While we can’t wait to go outdoors or enjoy some time off, the reality is that professional musicians are busy with gigs and amateur musicians need some time off from their full-time jobs. So how does practice fit in?

One thing a lot of musicians come to realize is that practice is not all or nothing. You don’t have to play your instrument for 2 hours to call it practice. There are a lot of things you can do that will help you keep the momentum, learn something new, and feel less stressed about practicing. More importantly, some of them are even necessary to level up your skills.

In the month of July, we will share a series of summer light practice ideas that may or may not involve your instruments. All you need is to bring is an open mind (and ears) and the curiosity to discover and learn.

To give you a sneak peek, we will share ideas such as listening to recordings, reading and study scores, playing with your instruments differently, and more! Stay tuned and enjoy the summer!
